| | | PiNerd,
Well.... I like this kind of post better than your other ones. I mean, hey, I am not the BoD forum police or anything.
But I'll go toe to toe against someone who is aggressively mean toward my fellow BoD maniacs.
Also, it seemed like you didn't care. Based on what you put in your latest post, I suppose you do.
Thanks for the compliments on my levels. Many people have requested that I make more.
Actually I intend to for sure, especially with the new options of the enhanced designer.
Pickle is right about me doing only select things but doing them to perfection.
That's just how I roll. (but that's also why I keep a good majority of my golds)
So, in the interest of not getting bogged down with making a level pack where I feel the inner pull to maximize everything,
I will likely make 2 separate packs. One with about a dozen good, well designed levels that will all be "HoF worthy"...
and one pack with only a handful (or even less) of levels that are out of this world incredible.
Also, falling into the "for what it's worth" category, I am a big advocate of proof testing levels prior to their HoF induction.
This is no secret. You say that your newest pack has superior looks over BikeForce. If that's true, then that's gonna be some pack.
Nothing wrong with that, so long as the playability factor is well designed. Even simple courses can be great fun and great competition.
The levels must be played enough in testing phase (I believe the creator should be the one to do this) to work out all the bugs and glitches.
Everyone has their own opinion on the levels shortcuts. By now you all know mine. tricks and some shortcuts are great.
But the shortcuts that ruin the entire level via bypassing it is lame, and renders the competition on that level nearly pointless in most cases.
So I vote that we all work to avoid stuff like SCYSF as much as we can. That was a great level.

| | | Definately, The Climb for HoF. If someone manages to create a level which truly utilises the full awesomeness of gravity. I think the same of portals. They have served us well in making levels which don't have to be continuous, but I think there is much more to see. True physics bending will be awesome when someone manages it. Later today I hope to release Elements. I did lose the sky texturing on the last level when I moved it to the card, so that'll be another 20 minutes of texturing again. Playability on the last levels is one for the tough terrain experts . |

| | | BikeForce Elemtns is sent to Sz. It turned out that I didn't lose the last level textures, but they were unsaved in Bike or Design. This pack is fairly bleak and depressing - I wonder if that has an effect on how well people play it. If these ever make HoF I would strongly advise them to some of the last levels, or with easy ones either side, or else they will drive people mad (rather like I went mad when 50m swim and FBI: hidden lair hit me as a noob). |
