|  |  | I just bought a $30 bumper case. Expensive, but it makes it much more durable, and I don't have any issues with the reception issue, so I just can sit back and watch the blogosphere explode.
It's a pure hardware issue, but, I don't think it's a dealbreaker. With a bumper, it doesn't matter at all, and you can just complain to support enough to get one for free. BoD looks amazing on the screen, and it just doesn't matter for me that much.
Android is certainly competitive, but the UI experience is just miserable. The phones can be great, but the UI sucks so much that I couldn't switch...I hope that improves, because I am a fan of open source, but it hasn't changed much.
The carrier skins like "Motoblur" and "Sense UI" just make it worse, too  . |

BB i'm glad u enjoyed it. I found out about the new pack a few days after it came out ( I set my profile to email me if my bod position changes but since it never changed before I didn't realiZe it would go to my junk lol). By the time I lost the position and saw it was someone I likes in first I figured I'd let u keep it for a little while. But yes - I have played some of the new levels just to try it out on my iPod touch. I hate playing on touchscreen but have beaten enough levels to reclaim first. I can wait another few days before submitting them if ud like  |

|  | | Hey it's Mike! What's up man? I didn't get the Droid. I still have my Samsung i760 and have been out of contract for over a year. I want the iphone4 more than any of them, but I am very displeased with Apple's response on this issue. I understand that it can be fixed with the case. But then they need to suck it up and give a case to everyone who wants one. The retail price is $30, but you know that doesn't cost Apple more than $5-$8 bucks a pop. To provide a case to one million iphone4 buyers would only cost them a few million bucks. That is a no brainer for PR and sales would likely increase greatly on morale and confidence in Apple.
Anyhow... the fact that they are claiming a software issue with the signal strength also is super dumb. Think about it. I figure 2 problems with this.
1. It kinda makes it seem like they had conveniently built the phone with an ever-strong signal, as if they were trying to trick everyone by making people believe the signal was always better than it really is. How 'interesting' that their 'calculation formula' was significantly inflating the signal strength. I am not saying that it was intentional deception, but I am skeptical about it.
2. The bigger problem is that regardless of the software in the phone, the FACT is that the signal strength is altered by holding the phone in a very normal and comfortable way. If the software shifts the signal strength by 1 or 2 bars lower, the actual problem will still physically exist. They may try to mask it with a software fix, but hundreds of video testimonials have proven that there is a physical issue. I think their response of "Oh it's no big deal" and "Don't hold the phone that way" and now "Oopsie! Our signal calculator was way off" is very messy and unprofessional.
So, I will just wait and see how things play out. There is still a lot to like about the phone, but I am not going to be jumping into either any time too soon.

|  | | Here is a free (or at most $1) fix that works just as well as the bumper--use any Silicone bracelet (you know--like the Lance Armstrong Livestrong bracelet) you have sitting in a drawer. Wrap it around the iPhone4 just like the bumper and you are good to go.
