Very nice! I wonder how those physics work when the wheels are each in two different places.

@Vega's idea: I'm sure you mean BoD needs a new hardware platform. Palm is disappearing; I wonder about the PPC market? The game would definitely be good for the NDS market, which seems to lack addictive games.
But there is also the budget / Linux laptop market. Look at the OLPC; millions of kids (and adults) will soon have these laptops, and Bike or Die! would be a great game for them. It could be the new "Space Cadet Pinball."

yes - i'm going to extend BoD beyond the palm platform, but only after releasing v1.5 + graphics improvements (so it can compete with all those modern games better)

and the physics in portals works "almost normally": imagine this configuration from the bike perspective... (i.e. imagine that it is the terrain that splits, not the bike. and actually, visualising this from the bike perspective could be even better for the game - there would be no sudden camera skip during the transition. i must try this approach!!!

You are building some good drama here Sz. What platform are you going to next(probably won't get an answer, but I had to ask)? Hopefully one where you can get your just due for building the best game I have ever played (and I have played my share).

I can't wait for the 1.5 release and the new features--the ones you are successfully trickling out.

This all sounds fantastic Sz!! I can't wait - any chance bike or die is coming to PSP? Even as homebrew? I can but dream. Mind you I'm happy with it on my phone at the mo!

My last post made me think about another cool menu feature:

* Have a drop down menu item that allows you display the entire stats listing of all levels in a given levelpack on one page or 'one screen'. So for example, I go to the Standard pack, find a 'Stats' option and Bam! ....... stats for all 25 levels!! That'd be cool

SZ, how is stage 1 progressing? You said, "the 'stage 1' beta version should be ready before august". You have sufficiently built the excitement, now we are just anxiously awaiting the beta. I hope you didn't mean August 2008.

hey sz! since every body else made suggestions I thought I would to. I think it would be cool to use one of the unused hardware buttons to restart the lvl,when I'm trying to get a new time its sort of anoying having to wait till he dies or pulling down the menu and pushing restart.

and for a wild suggestion I think it would be awsome to have more weather besides just being able to make it slippry,updrafts,the way the lvl looks...ect... I think it would be cool to add ,rain,wind, you know weather.
well thats my suggestions they might be comletely insane since I dont really know how hard it is to re-program a game but I think this would be awsome,any one

one more suggestion I dont know if this is possible and it would take up space but could you make it so we could download the recordings of the top players to our palms?
in a sperate file so we couldent put them as ours and cheat of cource. I would like to be able to be able to look at there records then race right after so I could beat them.(Il never cach up

About your last suggestion, i bet sz won't do that even it is really possible. Trust me

If the game is showing the death animation sequence, you can tap on the screen to restart the level. For me, that is just as easy as pressing a different button.

every one else seemed to have made a suggestion so heres a few of mine.
could you make one of the unused hardware buttons be "restart level" that way when you want to restart you wouldent have to etheir die or pull down the menu it would be alot faster.
I dont know if this is possible or not but could you make it so we could put the recordings of others (Like mike flips,vega,oliver,kristofer,ect...) that way when were trying to to get a trick right we could directly see how they do it then imiedietly swich to race mode and try it our selfs.

now for the insane suggestion. This is a long time from now probly that youll put something like this in but any way.
I think it would be cool to add more weather you know like the slippery and the updraft soon the portall well another could maby be some wind making it easyer to go one way than the other or making you go twice as fast,ect..

On a Treo 650 you can restart a level immediately any time by touching the very top-right of the screen, very useful.
