New Bike or Design/Bike or Die features

Suggest your new ideas for future versions:

One i thot of was allowing us to make the starting point at different angles, so if we start on a hill for example, we can have a 45 degree angle start so we are level with the hill... or if we are dropping down into a sort of half pipe we can start the bike vertical...

or at least be able to start the bike facing left or facing right so we dont always have to switch

Anything from "Super Mario Brothers" would improve the game, but it may be hard to implement.

My Maze levelpack reminded me that this game could simulate others, especially if some features were added. Landing on moving enemies and such would make this game more fun, but I doubt that will come in BoD v1.x.

i already started it, it is awesome, i will finish as fast as i can and will make it as realistic as possible. I will do everything i can to make it a hall of fame suitable level but that means SZ has to wait for my pack. Ill try and finish in next few days

K well, i just finished the level...

I tried to keep the proportions somewhat similar.

I had 5 main problems.
1) Bike or Die dude cant jump as high as mario. I didnt put in some of the up high stuff because it cant be seen anyways... although i put some in.
2) Not enough objects are able to be put in. I wasnt able to put in grass and tree stumps to similate the little hills and bushes in the background.
3) Length... the editor is not long enuf to take the whole level... i had to cut out the 3rd quarter of the level.
4) Colour... we only get 2 main colours... i made the best of it tho.
5) Difficulty... again i said mario can jump way higher. There were some points where i had to put lines so that the bike can ride over a jump because it can not jump it... or up the stair things.

HOwever, even with all these problems it is still a great level and when i send in my pack soon you guys should relly like it.

HUGE IDEA!! what if you could take a picture and have a program that makes it become bike or die compatible like you set up stuff take the pic. go to bike or design and it makes the lines and stuff for you!!!! what do you guys think?!

yes but can it be done? im sure there is some way to take pics either already on your palm or current photos and make them into bike or die levels?kris do you think it is possible?

AMAZING IDEA:

In the editor during test play, we should be able to pause the game and set that as a "Test Point." What this would do is it would allow us to test the level from that exact instant in time. For example, lets say i was testing making a level such as cave dweller, and i wanted to test the middle part of the level where you have to hang the bike and ride up the rail to the top portion of the level. Normally i would have to set a test point near the rail and then i would have to test it by getting the bike onto the rail and then riding it up myself. Many times i may miss the rail or i may need to gather speed to get onto the rail. A lot of valuable time is wasted here. However, with the feature, i would set the test point while i am near the end of the rail having ridden it up already. Then everyime i restarted, i would start already hanging on the rail with an appropriate amount of speed.

Basically it would allow us to simulate in game situations without having to spend the time getting into the situations so that when we are testing the levels it will save a lot of wasted time.

Let me know what you guys think or if you need any clarification.

Great idea! It seems pretty advanced though for the game programmer. Not sure how it would work but if it's possible it seems like a good tool.

Also one of the things that I saw mentioned in a previous post that I completely agree with is having the option to start the bike facing left or right instead of just right. That seems very simple and it would give us more options when creating the start point of levels

Also again , a wider variety of little pics (in addition to the ones already available like the snowman, wheels, rocks, trees, etc.) would be very fun for creation purposes. I understand the need to limit the amount of pics you can put on each level but the variety to choose from should be a wider selection

It is a great idea. Kind of like a breakpoint for a programmer.

Many levels you can't even practice certain tricks without playing the real level all the way through, which takes lots of extra time. I would certainly be for it.

A new idea for private messages:

For anyone with more then 1 page of private messages, each time they want to view the latest message, they have to go to the last page. It would be simpler if it showed the newest messages first, instead of the oldest ones. Especially for people like me who send and recieve many of these messages.
