When I check my statistics on this level, I have 289 tries, 0 completed, and 262 failed. How does that work?

It means you restarted the level a few times before you failed.

Oh. If I attempt something (like a jump) and don't maket it, I either commit suicide or restart, sp I end up doing that a lot.

I am really starting to dislike this level......I cant seem to get that last jump,the thing is,if I can finally land that last jump(meaning the one at the center right of the screen,before getting the last flag)I always hit to low or bump my head on the celing theres very little room for error there....but in the long run I gess its worth it

well I have played an hour or so both yesturday and the day before,and only maneged to get it to 1;03;xx and so I need to lose around 7 seconds still to get top 30....
