| | | Infact....I already did something that took an act of God with the Sinus jump and only got 10 votes...and of the 10, 2 of them were from my VegaDad and VegaWife, my own family This tells me that not enough people are participating because it's not realistic to beat Rachman.......HEY! I just got an idea. What about having the freestyle voting based on active players voting. Every year the slate can be wiped clean and all eligible games can be re-voted on by all active players. This seems more interesting because it will always keep it fresh. Also, there may be 30-40 votes that Rachman got from players that haven't been active in BOD for a very long time. That would be like having fans vote for an All-Star team in 1978 and having those votes count for the rest of history, so every year players not even active are being voted on and that's pretty lame eh? What does everyone else think about this? Or does anyone else have any other ideas? |

| | | Vega's idea makes sense. But you will need to define what an active player is. Also, should inactive players have their freestyle games as well as their votes removed from the competetion ?
BTW looks like you've picked up 2 more votes in 1 hour with that story

| | | Shane - no definition of active player is necessary. Simply wipe the slate clean and allow whoever wants to vote to vote. The active players will identify themselves simply by logging on to the website and voting. This would be great because the only votes received would come from all of the people who currently care to do so, which caters and satisfies the current BOD group rather than satisfying the group of the past that doesn't even check up on it much. But even if Rachman wanted to vote, that should be fine because I don't think anyone should be penalized for not submitting recent times. It would just be their choice as to whether or not they want to log in and vote. |

| | | it sounds good, and each year there can be a champion.
However, if it is wiped clean each year, a lot of people arent going to remember that they have to vote again...
so there would have to be some sort of IN YOUR FACE reminder for people to revote... maybe when you log in, at the top of your profile it will say = YOU HAVE 3 VOTES REMAINING or something....
or, (maybe this is what you meant vega - but i dont think so), every year the freestyle competition is completely removed, as in every single game is removed, then players have to submit new games in january and voting can start in february until the end of the year. And if Rachman or whoever wanted, they could come back and select their same recordings to be resubmitted as a freestyle entry...
that way, there can be a champ every year and no one will benefit from inactive users voting.
As for the golden club, do you guys think its fair to remove points from Rachman so that it doesnt include the freestyle comp, or "bottle" levels?
I feel thats fair as he doesnt really deserve points for these things, he has the fastest possible score, but so do other people, either they all should get golden club points or none of them, (and the answer should be none of them, because then 30 people would be getting points for shelf),
everytime a scoring system has changed people have lost/points, or only some gained... so its fair to do this, now that we realize he shouldnt have the 2 golds that he does

| | | Top 3 each year should be recognized. And I love the IN YOUR FACE reminder of the votes. That's perfect. I think that alone will generate a lot of new excitement in this competition. Sz - It may be a good idea to make a general bulletin (not for the forum)......kind of like what Tom did with MySpace. This way you could communicate a mass broadcast to all players that log into their profile page. (or I guess just the homepage of BOD)
As for having players resubmit, I don't think that's necessary. We should only wipe the votes slate clean, not the games submitted. I think even the inactive players games should remain eligible for voting. |

| | | Yea, top 3 sounds good, and i guess its not neccessary to erase all games
