| | | bones. the bible is the most historically accurate book in existence. Not one historian, professor, scholar, or theologian anywhere in the world has ever proven that the bible contains a single contradiction. People try. Oh do they try. But there are none. This will garner multiple arguments (I can hear them now, and I have heard them for decades), but I will not move an inch on this statement. |

| | | well i am far from believing this where is proof? hm?? the stupid wonderous achievments? the plagues? in a desert 40 days? a 5oo year gap??? NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN THAT NO ONE i have a very religious friend who is braainwashed to ignore this i feel sorry for her each time i ask why is there a 500 year gap of thigs she simply repeats these exact same words. " The stories of the Old Testement were passed down from generation to generation" she is clueless to its errors and vega many many historians find problems with the bible especially that gap. trust me history and theory are my minors and so many find the bible unrelieable |

| | | MMM politics. The problem we have in canada is that noone likes any of the candidates .
@ Bones i think vega is right. The old testament is fine, and has so much depth it is very solid overall. However, there is a massive gap between when Jesus was alive and the New testament. I think that is what you were referring to? The new testament definately doesnt meet the criteria in any way shape or form for being "historically accurate."
But nonetheless, in the 4th century, the Roman emperer at the time (and therefore greatest power in the world - they were the ruling empire then) decided that Christianity would be the official religion and it was imposed (much like Pickle likes to do) upon all the people. No wonder it is the biggest religion today.
But most people like Pickle dont question the foundations of their religion. Most people dont study other religions and take their own time to understand the various religions in the world and make an educated decision about what they would like to believe. Just like in the 4th century, religion is imposed upon every newborn by their parents and the kids generally grow up and accept the religion and dont ask any question. (Or they reject religion in general - or in rare cases switch religions).
And Pickle really, you just sound so dumb talking about Israel. I dont know what nonsense you are talking about idols there. If you werent such an idiot you would know that 3/4 of the country is Jewish - believing in one God, the same one that you believe in (aka Jesus's "Dad" according to you). Then you have like 15% are muslims (all the arabs living there). Again, they also believe in one god (allah) and they have no idols. For all we know their god is the same as that of the Jews and Christians. Then i think nearly 10% is Christian. Again 1 god. Or i guess multiple gods if you consider Jesus to be a god too.
So much idol worshipping going on. Let me tell you.
And then you say America is suffering such fates too? Maybe thats because like Vega said, they made some really dumb loaning decisions and let people buy houses who they knew would not be able to afford them. Combine that with the fact that China has over a billion people and they are finally taking advantage of this massive amount of people and are transitioning from a poorer country to a richer country - its no wonder the U.S. is slipping from their throne.
But no, your explanation is that the gay people are making America lose its power.
Why dont you think for yourself instead of speaking out of your you know what? |

| | | MMM Religion...
Personally, I'm a Christian. I go to a Christian school, go to church yada yada yada... But i don't try to impose my beliefs on people. That is most definitely NOT the way to turn people to Christ. I try to display a Christian attitude in my actions and such.
I don't like when Christians make other Christians look like idiots because they themselves have no idea what they're talking about. Lets just say that i have a VERY logical mind. And naturally, Christianity is very illogical. You would think it wouldn't make sense to me. On the surface it doesn't, but if you truly think deep enough it makes sense.
It have become increasingly hard in this generation to have any faith. We have seen much of what science is capable of and we think we've got it all figured out. Im not discounting the big bang and whatever it could have very well happened that way. Genesis is vague and cultural gap makes it nigh impossible for us to understand the true meaning of the Bible.
After all, we're only human. |

| | | Pickle, saying that there is a WRONG and a CORRECT god IS imposing your religion on others. You are saying that if i am, say, a Muslim I am worshipping some "WRONG" god. How so? It is what I choose to believe in. As I said, I am an athiest. So when people say that I need to believe in ANY god, I don't like that. ESPECIALLY when I am told to only believe in a PARTICULAR god.
I'm sure that we have many religions here, and I support that. What I don't support is saying that one religion is WRONG and another is RIGHT. It is all a matter of wheither you want to have a religion or not.
So please stop. |
