Kristopher | Adding Custom Pictures to My Levels How did that picture of earth get in Master KO's Levels? I have figured out how to convert JPEGs to BMPs on my PC, convert them to PRCs through Teal Paint, and Copy/Paste them into a level pack through RsrcEdit, but they are low res only! In the TBMP resources, the 1 bit picture is used for grayscale Palms, the 8 bit picture is used for low res color Palms, and the 16 bit picture is used for hires. But RsrcEdit does NOT let you edit the 16 bit pictures! So how do I edit them? Also, I can only make rectangular bitmaps, so there is white space at the edges of my pictures! PLEASE HELP!!! |

| | | Here is how I am adding pictures to my levels. The process is very long, and you cannot get hi-res pictures, but it does work. But isn't there an easier way?
Open the picture in Windows using Paint or Photoshop, and save it as a 256-color BMP with a maximum resolution of 160x160.
Put that on an SD card.
Using Tealpaint for Palm, create a DB on your Palm's RAM, and select "Import from BMP" on the menu. Then find the BMP and import it.
Put the cursor on the name of the picture, and select "Change Format" from the menu. Then change the format to 8 bit (256 colors).
Close TealPaint and open Rsrc Edit. Find the PDB you created in TealPaint, highlight it, and select "Open as TealPaint DB" from the menu.
Select the picture in the Teal DB you want to add to your custom levels, and select copy as TBMP.
Find your custom levelpack in Rsrc Edit, open it, and paste the TBMP from the menu.
Open the TBMP, and edit as necessary. You can select a color numbered 0 (white) to 255 (black) to be transparent.
Close the picture, highlight it in your levelpack, and give it a different number. If you number it as #450, it will act as picture 50. |
