BOD on Centro?

My beloved Treo has died. Or rather, it still works for Bike or Die, but the speaker and mic are hosed, so I can't actually make any calls on it. I can get a Centro through Sprint for free after rebates. I've also considered getting an iPhone, but I can't really afford one right now. Does BOD work on the Centro? Anybody using it? Worse case I guess I can keep playing on my Treo until it falls apart completely, and just upload my games through the computer instead. What's the cheapest you can get an iPhone for?

BoD works fine on centro (no reason it wouldnt).

One issue is that the 5-way is pretty weird.

BTW, if you check craigslist, you can get a new treo for around $30

The 5-way does look a little weird. Have you played on the Centro, Xuzz?

No working Treos on craigslist near me (Utah) for under $120. Even one with a busted screen costs $30.

I've played on a Centro - my son has one. The 5-way is easy to get used to. You have to disable the other buttons though since they are so close. I really like how small and light the phone is. Seems like I remember that Champ plays on a Centro.

I currently have BoD on the following devices: Treo 755, Treo 700, Treo 650, Centro, Zodiac, and Touch. All of my HoF games were achieved on the 755, except one on the Zodiac (sequence). I just improved my sequence time last night on the Touch. I am definitely a 5-way fan.

All that being said, my recommendation would be to get the Centro as a primary phone. You can load BoD on it to play while you're away from home. While home, you can still play on your Treo.

yeah my experience is that my treo is a great handheld computer, but a crappy phone,....the texing alot of the time won't send, and sit gets stuck alot while in the phone application...wierd but maby it just my treo

it would be great if bod came out for blackberry...I think plm is a better system and all, but blackberry's are becoming more and more popular, palm may actually go outa busness within the next 5-6 years...

Pickle -- If palm goes belly-up, it will be in the next year. Blackberry is not going to happen, those are not native apps. The are java... Windows Mobile is possible, but not likely. The best platform would be PSP and DS, but to develop for those you really need to buy the SDK which costs like $10,000...

I mean for phones, not for gaming..obviously psp and nintendo DS are better for that....
Blackberry is becoming more and more popular every day as a smartphone...and windows mobile is also doing alright, but its mainly blackberry's that(as far as I can tell) are leading the "smartphone"indestry..

But blackberry is programmed in a different language so it would be very hard to port, unlike iPhone which is the same language.

I just tried on a centro (my wife's, shush

) and the 5-way navigator is different/annoying. That said, i did get top 30 time on riding school after 20 minutes - but it felt clumsy. BoD works fine though

yeah it kinda stinks....I wanted the newest palm versoin,so I bought a treo 755 a week after I bought that,the centro came out..

I could care less how hard,I would adjust, the thing is its around 300$$ cheaper...
