level movies

what if when you clicked on a video to look at it closer. the creator of the level could put a movie on there so they can see how it's done. BUT only the creator can so it would only happen on some levels since many levelpack creators have left

You can already zoom in on the movies. You can open a menu by right-clicking on the movie.
For the other idea - I think every recording for every level should be uploaded, then all movies would be viewable through the levelpack explorer.

I thought of something today. I think in order to put your level pack online to view, each level should need to have a flash recording of the creator beating it or it isn't eligible. This would weed out a lot of levels but that's good cuz there is certainly no shortage eh?

One of the coolest and most attractive features of this game is the online competition and the ablility to view other player's games in Flash recordings. Maybe the option to click on the movie or click on a button right below each movie that says "full size" or something. Because it is so much nicer to not have to zoom in and follow the bike around the level just to get a good look at it. I have noticed that the flash movies on Kris's websites are much larger than BoD HoF vids. So that is one size increase that would be a big difference. But when I create a flash movie using the flash tool, it is a very large picture. So to have a link to the actual flash movie file is a better idea, those come out in full screen it is a glorious site to behold. It really brings the game to life very nicely.

Is anything like that possible??

The sizes of the movies in the web pages are determined by the web page, not the movie file, so we need a new design for the movie pages before we can change the movie size. I think some Javascript could resize the movies, or place them over the navigation panel on the left so they could be full-screen without opening a new window.

I love this idea! Kris does this all the time, but he uses his own webpage. Some of us don't have that option. I have some levels that look impossible or really easy, but if you watch someone playing them, you realize it's different. Like if there are hidden portals, flags, and phantom floors, you can tell that they are there.

Also, if you have to have a recording to submit a level, you should have the option of posting it secret.
