Sweet Fifteen, New Deal, and THEN...

(Over 300 levels have been released since the Sweet Fifteen levelpack was officiated.)

Around 70 levels have been nominated for the Hall of Fame. They are listed here:

http://bikeordie.50webs.com/misc/next_levels.html

These levels have been selected by several players (listed on the page). Anyone can add to this page if they want to, but I think it is fairly complete.

Now the list should be consolidated, until only 15 levels are left. Everyone should vote for or against the levels. The plan is to only have some levels with v1.4 features, because no one has mastered them yet.

Okay, 2 days, then. If the packs are released together, some players will play just one levelpack, which means less competition for the other levelpack.
bones
kris you missed the point. if both packs are released at the same time it is all strategy on which levels you go for first. it will give at least(im betting on that is)5 people golds for at least two days cause they might play those levels more than others. it will be like a mega pack but seperate like vega said. more points more confident and a variety of players with golds it is a good thing
bones
i figured out how to simplfy what i just said. the point is for there to be less competition cause then more people will have high ranking scores.
Vega
Together is better! The competition will level out in a matter of days anyway. Let's allow some people that don't normally have a chance to get a medal have one now. This is a great opportunity for that! It won't hurt anything long term at all right? Think of all of the activity that will be on BoD over the first few weeks bcuz of these packs. It's gonna be fun
bones
thats exactly what i meant are you sending to sz tonight??
and get on chat real quick

Ok...

First of all, why give people easy golds by releasing so many levels at once? Wasnt the whole fun of the last pack, the top 10 players trying to keep people like Shane and Henoch (and Kassulla) for as long as possible

Oops, i clicked save this comment by accident...

Second of all, that many levels at once gives a very unfair advantage to many people. For example, lets say someone lives at home in their parents basement and can play BoD for 20 hours in the first day. While people such as Vega who have jobs may only have 1 hour the first day. Why give golds to that person just because they can play more. The beauty of one pack being released at a time is that we can all compete on the same pack for the same medals. Trying to reduce the competition ruins the whole fun of it and the whole point of competing for good times. Also, the Golden club updates at a certain time of the day. For me it happens to be after dinner, for some people it may be 4 in the morning, or lunch time. That means after the first day of play, with 32 levels, people may be able to get 10 golden club points if they are good. They need to be far enough apart so that most of the tricks in every level have been discovered.

A gold medal is something that you have to work hard for in order to earn it. Its a symbol of talent and skill.

Why hand them out on a silver platter?
bones
we have had many reasons on both sides. this subject is done except for when the pack comes out. we should let sz decide from here
Henoch
Why not mike? I'm a nice person
Vega
what's the diff between 15 new levels opened or 30? It's not handing golds out on a platter. If anything, the people who get golds in the first couple of days won't hold them for very long, and if they do, then it must be a really good score or it wouldn't last. The competition will wipe out bad top times almost immediately. I see no problem with it. There is a big difference between getting 1 or 2 Gold club points on a new level then there is for getting a super challenging that will hold for a long time. I don't mind if people hold golds for a little. They are going to rocket to the top of Golden Club I suppose we can let Sz decide. But it definitely within a week because all of the good players will have really good times on Old School and then if someone gets a gold they earned it for sure
Vega
oops I meant to say that they 'aren't' going to rocket to the top of GC
mike flips
Im fine with a week Vega, its just 30 levels are impossible to play even remotely decently in under 2 days, there will be absolutely no competition on many levels...

If we do 16, people can play for a week, and finish most levels, then the next pack comes out and the frenzy can start all over. At least people will have time to play some levels.
Vega
Here is the email I just sent to Sz with the packs attached!!!!!

Subject: Old School and Next Generation - NEW LEVEL PACKS!!!!!!!!!!

Ok Sz. Here they are! After lots of hard work, creativity, and much debate, here are the 2 new level packs. Pack 1 is "Old School" and pack 2 is "Next Generation". These names were voted on by all of the active players (see forum). There is also a debate going on when the 2nd pack should be released. Several players think they should both be released together(I think together is better). But others feel they should be separated by at least a few days. So we are going to leave that up to you to decide Let me know if you have any questions. And if you could please communicate to everyone on the forum when these will be released and also when they will be part of the HoF that would be great. Thanks Sz. I really appreciate it!

A couple of people have asked me in PM for copies of the levelpacks so they can practice. I don't have a problem sending this to people since I already have them and am able to play each level. I don't know when Sz will post the packs, so if I send you the pack Kris, will you post it for download so anyone who wants to can play them. The only thing that we need to keep in mind is that if everyone is playing both packs and NxGen release date gets delayed by a week or two, then as soon as it's live in the hall, everyone is going to post right away! But I suppose there is nothing wrong with that right? What do you think Kris? I can send it to you pretty much right now if you want to.
Sz
the levelpacks are now published (of course not in the HoF mode yet), so everyone can download and comment in the levelpack explorer

good work, everybody!
Sz
as for the simultaneous launch vs. launching the second pack a bit later: i would prefer delaying the second pack.
first, we will have two interesting periods of time instead of just one
second, this would be more fair to the players who for some reasons will not be able to play intensively during the first launch - they will have a second chance few days later.
mike flips
Ya Sz, thats what i was saying!
Vega
Ok you the man Sz. Whatver you want to do No rush now since everyone has access to the games. I just didn't want people to believe I had an unfair advantage
bones
well sz can you say on this thread the day that you will make the first pack hof? it would help me out so i can post when it becomes hof because i have a busy schedule.
