mike, i like your solution, i.e. adding GC points only when there is just one best player. i hope that players losing GC points because of this won't get upset. they have something better than points anyway: eternal #1 rank that no one can beat

I haven't looked around but there may be a few levels with just top 2 or 3 tied. Snowstorm springs to mind (and Mike's got that one

). Perhaps PMD's idea of a top 5 or 10 tied would make a better qualifier?

As for TTC points, the 'bottle' levels should stay. Like 'em or not (personally, I don't) they are part of the game. Its only fair that new players waste as much time on them as we have

I like Shane's idea of leaving bottle and shelf for new players to waste time on. I didn't have to spend much time to get 121 pts on shelf, but I spent days trying to get 6,26 on bottle.

And I like idea that PMD (and others) suggested to plot real rank. I created a plot of my real ranks and it looks a lot better than my "regular" ranks. I love the orange color, though.

I don't have a dog in the GC fight, but I think they should get some credit for doing it first... just not eternal credit.

Btw, I have two silvers that are tied with a gold time (gravicorners and downhill madness).

I think some people are misunderstanding my suggestion. I didnt mean for this to happen on all levels. I meant this for ONLY levels deemed "bottles" (as in the 2 levels for now). These levels would mean that Dk and Rachman lose the points they have been getting (from the point that the second person got the bottled time). However, for all other levels, i think whoever got it first deserves the points because since it is not deemed a bottle level, there is still room for improvement and the person in second place still has an opportunity to get a gold medal time whereas in bottles, this opportunity is not present.

I dont mind keeping the 121 points for these levels, after all, we did work hard to get those times. However, they shouldn't be displayed in the charts.

Rather than hard code the levels currently deemed a bottle/shelf, why not define a 'bottle' as say the first 5 times being equal. If the rule is triggered then the points, ranks, charts, GC points etc are adjusted as agreed. This way Sz can code it once and forget it.
