Items

How about items? They would work like this:

1) Placed it editor, have numbers like mines and flags.
2) Collected like flags, and used immediatly
3) Example items: Rotate Gravity, flip gravity, speed up for a bit, slow down for a bit, reduce friction, etc.
4) would make for some cool, dynamic levels

OOh i kinda like this idea except an item should be rotate level then that would be cool in a maze level.

I can see this might be fun...
like having sticky tires for 10 seconds...
reversing gravity... say every time you pass through a switch item...
Dropping gravity by 50% to make a bigger leap for a short period...
"invulnerability to mines" for 10 seconds...
Speed boost - to a fixed speed from a point touch.. or 200% increase maybe?...
I'm trying to think of all the extra features that there are, and how they might be tweaked to be used in this way.

my brother(for the short month long period he played)the critic as his name hear is,suggested something like this,he said a booster "pad"kinda like in the mario cart game just a temporary boost,anyway,this would take the game in a totally different direction I dont kow if it would be for the bettter or for the worse but......

5) Items can be specified to stay after a use or to dissepear (sp).


More ideas i had:
it could rotate the screen, but that would be hard on the video blitter...
rotate gravity left/right relative (box level maybe?)
set gravity certain direction (left, right, up, down)
automatically reverse (would make for some fun levels)
stop you in your tracks

putting you at a dead stop would be cool if it dient kill you of cource good for landing impossible jumps and such...
