Henoch | | | Oh that question. I'm agree with you and PMD we should go by points.
Again this is just simple case for Kris. But instead of showing only points in the spreadsheet, I suggest that Kris can make it into ranks and points side by side, so he only need to add one field to the data. |
|
Kristopher | | | That is almost impossible because I get the data from Sz's spreadsheets, and they do not list the points.
To calculate the points earned myself, if someone was ranked #100 in a level, I would have to find the 99 people who beat him, then see how many of those people tied, just to calculate the points for one person.
It is better to use ranks though (for programming), which is why you can see those in your profile instead of points. For example, if someone is ranked #35 in Shelf, I can calculate by the number 35 that they are listed at http://bike.toyspring .com/view.php?c=100& hf=& hp=3 . But I cannot calculate that based on the fact that they scored 121 points.
If Sz's spreadsheets only listed the points, and two people both had 121 points on a level, I would not be able to determine who was getting Golden Club points for that level.
So the points earned would have to be extra, instead of replacing the ranks. It would be impossible to calculate myself with my (very) slow server, but I could add the points earned to my ranking charts if Sz adds them to his spreadsheets.
(An example of Sz's spreadsheets, where I get the ranking data, is http://bike.toyspring .com/plsummary.php?p=1769& f=0 .) |

Kristopher | | | I have more silvers than Mike Flips! I want a Silver Club! |
|
Shane | | | DK would win |
|
Vega | | | I want a medals club! Gold club points has become the ultimate focus for BoD recently because it's the only permanent ranking in the game. Once you accumulate the points, you keep them forever. And it's time sensitive. Having a medals club would take the pressure off of having to submit a gold and hope it holds. More people would realize that silver and bronze are great accomplishments as well as gold if the medal points were on record |
|
mike flips | | | I remember when golden club came out and i was fighting it and Vega and Kris were saying that its fine. Vega u said "I think this is an excellent system just as is because it's very pure. It gives proper recongnition to those who have had golds that have stood the test of time?So if anyone has interest in this particular ranking, they will just need to understand that it heavily favors long term gold holding, but that is just the very nature of it."

|
Kristopher | | | A medals competition would be nice, but a competition for only Silver or Bronze medals would be very interesting. |
|
Vega | | |
mike flips | | | We can have it like that Vega, similar to the medals by country. The rankings are shown by golden points, but it also shows silver and bronze points... and you can click at the top to sort according to each type of medal.
So for example
Gold Silver Bronze
Mike 310 23 444
Vega 243 32 234
Kris 88 199 890
and we can then just rearrange this however we want.
Or we can put it all together into one set of points like it is currently and give a different value to points, for example, golds are 3, silvers 2, bronzes 1.... or something like that. The numbers could be up for debate. |
