It's sad to see you stop Brian, your the biggest reason that i have tried so hard to get better, me and you battling back and forth was really fun while it lasted

I too have sometimes thought about hanging it up, but something always pulls me back in

and PMD, i'm not sure that i am going to have the drive to pass you now without having someone to constantly battle back and forth with

i don't really have a very good attention span and sometimes i lose interest in things if it looks too far away or hard to get

Well, at least when you drop by, possibly just play through the new HoF packs and new packs on the page... possibly... unless you cant .
PMD
Hey BikerBrian, it's all about finding the right balance.

For my personal happiness, I need a balance of all those things that you mentioned, but I also need a little sliver that is something for myself.

That sliver has become less for me over the past year (as you can see from my drop from 2nd to 4th). I made the adjustment last year just as you are doing now.

When I look at what I do on a daily basis, there is still some time for the fun, competition, and community of BoD--sitting in the waiting room at the dentist office, waiting for my daughter to finish up her tennis lesson, sitting on the toilet (too much information I know), etc...

I have personally just adjusted my playing time and sure I have lost a couple of rankings, but I still am enjoying a game that I like to play and I think it contributes to my overall happiness. My happiness also impacts my relationship to work, wife, kids, church, etc... in a positive way.

I am certain that the times I do play, I would otherwise not be doing anything else that would be an accomplishment as you say. You just need to pick the right times for playing.

Anyway, sorry for the discourse. Take it for what it's worth. That is just my experience. If you do decide to hang up your Palm, it's been nice watching you move up the ranks and banter with Pickle. Certainly, make sure to be back to visit every so often.

Mr.pickle.
Hmm..I have basicly been quit for the last 3 months, becuase I got so completly anoyed at my phone for repeatedly losing my golds, and ranks. If brian is quitting, Maby I will get back into it,just so I can pass him one more time, lol

Sad to seeya go BB, For a final count how many times did we pass each other back and forth? it was like 11,or 12 I think, lol We battled it out hard when we climbed up through the top 50, until you hit top 10...and I...didnt...lol

PMD, I completely agree with you. Those little fragments of the day spent waiting (bus, appointment, etc...) probably account for the majority of my playing (although for the last few months, I have been reading books on my 650 with an e-book reader). Brian, hopefully you keep BoD around for those moments of free time

Brian, you have engaged in many discussions (and in some cases intense debates) ranging from BoD to religion and politics. Your participation in our little corner of the internet has left an impact on all of us on the forums. While people may think having "online friends" is lame, you certainly have been a friend to all of us. So thanks, I'm glad you are going to check in and hopefully every so often you will surprise us with a new piece of precious metal by your name
Mr.pickle.
wow, its rare for a player to get this many posetive comments apon leaving. If I left there would be a party alright, but it would be becuase I was gone, not celebrating when I was here, lol
SPiDeR
We could throw a Mr.pickle. party when you find the spell check button. =P
Kristopher
But now 'Pickle won't leave until he can spell.

SPiDeR: awesome avatar!
PiNerd
I reckon I have nearly as many online friends as real friends.

I do like that avatar also SPiDeR. What are you guys using to do the GIF animation? (please don't say flash lol)
