| | | Mike Flips - You brought up a couple of good points. Although I wasn't around when Rachman was breaking records, I will agree with you that most (not all of course) of his games are not nearly as impressive now as they may have once been. Rachman may have raised the bar in his time, but his rankings have significantly dropped since more people have joined. I play a little differently anyway...I am not so much concerned about my ranking in any levels. I just try to have absolutely perfect runs and am not satisfied until I know I cannot do better. It just always seems to land me a gold. It appears that Rachman and some of the other old timers did not play out the levels perhaps as much as they could have. But... to each his own ....right? Like I said, maybe one day BOD will have 10,000+ members in the Time Trials and it will be the same story for us..........

|  | | When Xuzz mentions eternal GC producers, he is talking about Bottle and Shelf. The only reason rachman and DK still have the top spot is that they were first to get the limiting time on those levels.
The problem for newer players like me is that these limiting times were reached before we started playing. Although several players have 121 pts on both levels, no one but rachman and DK will ever get GC pts for them.

and it's not an accident - it works because the ranking takes the subsequent packs in order of their appearance. todays champions are better in first 5 levelpacks than rachman was in his days, but todays champions also play newer levelpacks so they are evaluated in the higher "leagues" while rachman stays in 5 LP and he is still the best player there.

|  | | Actually, there are 103 levels in the Time Trial, so more than a hundred a day is possible. I know it looks like rachman! will be in the Top 10 forever, but Bike or Die! has only been around for two years. The old players won't stay at the top forever. In fact, Cirenco will be the leader within a year if he can keep 25 Golds.
It was easier to get Golds back then, but there were no movies to watch when the Bike or Die! started, and everyone had to develope their own routes. The effect of those Golds is trivial, and will have less effect on the Golden Club every day as the current Gold medalists slowly overtake rachman! and the other "ancient players."

| | | Infact....I already did something that took an act of God with the Sinus jump and only got 10 votes...and of the 10, 2 of them were from my VegaDad and VegaWife, my own family This tells me that not enough people are participating because it's not realistic to beat Rachman.......HEY! I just got an idea. What about having the freestyle voting based on active players voting. Every year the slate can be wiped clean and all eligible games can be re-voted on by all active players. This seems more interesting because it will always keep it fresh. Also, there may be 30-40 votes that Rachman got from players that haven't been active in BOD for a very long time. That would be like having fans vote for an All-Star team in 1978 and having those votes count for the rest of history, so every year players not even active are being voted on and that's pretty lame eh? What does everyone else think about this? Or does anyone else have any other ideas?
