Why didn't I just put ONE MORE BOMB at the top??!!

I have made numerous comments of begging everyone NOT to do this. Take a second to think about it. Why would you do this? Champ... you are already an expert at this level. Why shortcut it like this and ruin bones' design. This level was designed to be played out. Jumping over the clouds is like going into BoD design, highlighting the entire sloping part of the level and pressing delete, then submitting it to the hall. Please don't submit a completed version.

Tricks are cool. New routes are great, but on this particular level, it will ruin it. I really don't see a need for anyone to work so hard to jump over when all it will do is force a whole bunch of players to redo the level that they already worked hard to complete the right way. Those flags on the other side are meant to be a "tease". Hence the name of the level. You start out right below the flag, only to have to go all the way back to it.

If one player completes the shortcut, everyone will then know that it can be done and more will follow. Can I do it? Sure. Mike... sure... others.. sure. But WHY!?? Mike told me through PM months ago that he could do it but I convinced him to stop trying. I mean, it's not like my world is gonna melt and turn to ash if someone pulls it off, but it's just lame to see a great level go down like this.

I am all for tricks. Even some shortcuts are really cool (like Steps). But I see no reason to ruin this great level. Underground was cool because it was sort of the pioneer of this type of shortcutting, and that has it's place as a icon in BoD. Lee's newly discovered route on Pick five is inventive. It's exciting. Good for the game. But this isn't. This will just turn SCYSF into a high jump pole vault contest

Anyway, I know I tend to overdo it sometimes with my commentary and I have likely repeated myself numerous times here, but I just think that this is lame. I don't know what else to say. Hopefully we will find out that there is some magnetic force field between the wall and the finish flags that will prevent it from happening

I made it over once and died in the same spot.

I think this is an easier trick (Pickle level ), compared to Steps or Red Murder, so it's a bit impractical to have everyone not do it.
Someone will do it eventually, whether it's Pickle, a new player from the future, or I, so I don't see the point in playing the old route hoping (against probability) that no one will ever use this route.
It sounds like communism, but I'm having trouble finding the exact parallels...
So if I'm the first one to get this, it's not my fault; no one can stop this.

I didn't think of it when the level was added either, but in retrospect, this could have been solved with an invisible, horizontal line above the "teaser" finish flags.

I don't see it being any different than any of the other levels where there is a short cut. Red Murder, Steps, Underground, Touch Bricks, Tatra (entire level bypassed), Skyway, Etc...

If someone didn't discover it and they go away from the game, too bad.

If I take my Red Sox 1 level for example, I made it thinking that everyone would go left first. Well, it turns out that people can pull off right first and get a better time. It is funner to play and smoother going left, but no one will discover that now that right is done and faster--so be it.

Not everyone will do the shortcut. Very few have done Red Murder, Tatra, Skyway, Touch Bricks, and Steps. Just because it can be done doesn't mean it is easy. I thought when Th-Champ did Steps it would cause a flood of people doing it--well, he is still the only one to pull it off.

This level is no different!

I agree - 'seemingly' impossible shortcuts are an exciting temptation, and if someone somehow manages it then it's amazing to see and well earned. And like Steps it in no way means just anyone can do it just because they've seen it. It's like discovering a hidden treasure...

Well it seems that I am definitely swimming upstream here and I think there's a waterfall dropoff right behind me Oh well. At least I tried. Pole Vault High Jump it is!!!

Yea this looks exactly like when I did it last year. THe chances are VERY low of completing the level this way anyways Vega so there isnt much to worry about, hopefully. There is way too much speed required to get over the mines so no bike can survive bouncing off the wall unless it is PERFECT.

I'll open my game so you can see it as well and ill comment on a head to head.

I can't do it.
I recon there's less than 15 BoDers who will be able to pull it off, and if they can - good on them.
The great thing about these levels is that we all get several gos at them, as each alternative route is discovered.
I'm not a level designer, so I can't feel your pain V, but from me... thanks for the cool level design anyway - it's been fun to play, and it's attracted some innovation too... good work!
