That's better! This level shows the power of leaving your game closed. This was one of the longest standing golds (held by MF). Now it is 3 seconds faster. Thanks to Kris for causing me to take another look at this level. I had not played it on my iPhone until a few days ago.

Funny, Vega.

I was just kidding before about Brian opening it. My point was the same as always: keeping it closed may get you golds, but it kills the competition to the extent that nobody plays anymore since every gold seems unattainable. At that point, your precious golds become worthless.

YOUR precious golds become worthless. Mine are still as good as gold.

Laser, golds might be worthless to someone that has 21 of them, but for rank amateurs like me with only 7 measly golds, each one is precious. Plus, I've opened up my golds more than once and lost them to you.

at the moment, I have 21 as well (technically)

I used to have over 30 golds, and I definitely have lost my fair share over the years, so I know how it feels to get them and then lose them quickly.
I'll reword my point to make it clearer:
Keeping runs private does kill the competition for that level so you can keep your gold, but it also kills competition for the game in general when every level is like that. No one plays for second place, so why even start playing when first seems so unattainable?

I have no problem playing to best a secret gold run. Save for some crazy unknown trick hidden only within a secret run, the more I play a level where the gold is secret, the closer I get to being able to beat that time and I really couldn't care less to see the secret gold anymore.

... and by the way, I totally played for second place on CYBR. I had 19:02, and played another 2,000+ tries to achieve 18:92.

Oh, and this one.

Why don't I just open all of my secret golds for you!? Alright, here you go... but I better get some serious props for this run - at least from you and Vega.

My favorite moves on this level are the flip-drop onto the back wheel (16:60), the hop from the left-most hill directly to hooking the back wheel on the cable (22:50), and the clean run on the way back under the mercedes symbol (36:00), allowing me to keep momentum for the climb.

There aren't too many levels that have this much of a time gap between first and everyone else (except laser tag). Have fun!
