Lee | | | still private - open it up and we'll get excited for you |
Kenn | | | I said in players comment that it would stay secret until my 48 hours were up, but since I am not getting progress and it takes almost abusive amounts of luck to make it work, I'll show it now and let everyone else give it a shot. |
Kenn | | | Side note: on my Lasertag game I commented a hint that the strategy I was using had already been used on 4 other levels, the levels I was thinking of were RSP2, Shelf, Cactus, and Angry Man. are there others that deliberately go through walls? |
Laser | | | Insane! I had tried that same route minus the glitch part at where you died. I'm not sure if there's a way to, instead of going through that platform, hook your wheel on the corner and brake to spring your way on top of it.
Either way, you've earned yet another WOW!
Kenn | | | it is possible to hook like that but I tried many times and could not get a time that would be gold, another possibility that has happened to me just 1 or 2 times on accident is actually flying around the block and barely touching the flag.
That second strategy though I have no idea how I could possibly control it, at least this one I can control just a little tiny bit, nevertheless it is still very very random and luck based.
I'll be trying more but I don't know if I'll ever really make it work on a dry run. |
Laser | | | I actually just did my trick of getting on top of the platform, but I didn't know how to get down without hitting the mine below. |
Spence | | | so how do you get yourself un-hooked?
as for levels where you deliberately go through walls- FBI: Hidden Lair if you want to |
Kenn | | | @ Laser, you can make a running bounce against the wall just above the mine and easily clear it, was very easy for me to do when that was my route its not hard at all. Though I'm pretty convinced that this would not be faster than the current route, but feel free to try :p I'm not exactly great at BoD I just have some fresh ideas.
@ Spence, the goal is to not get hooked in the first place, its very random but you quite often go straight through and get slowed down a lot by the stretch, the difficult part is staying alive on the landing because of erratic spins that your bike does if it does go straight through. |
Spence | | | Which reminds me, if you want to go through a wall as in FBI or any of those levels, you have to hit lean forward or back right when your wheel is almost touching the surface.
Maybe you could try back flipping off the wall instead using that trick. |
mike flips | | | Kenn, perhaps a different approach might work. The key for guaranteeing you go through walls is momentum. The faster you are spinning the higher likelihood you will push through the wall.
So what about when you are on the far right wall, around the level of the middle platforms, tilt to the left and keep holding left to start spinning - . This will push you away from the wall if done right and will allow you to just grab the topmost flag and spin fast enough to smash through the walls.
Essentially, just to give you a visual - do what Vega did in his game, except push off earlier and hold left so you keep spinning.
Its worth a try.
