iBikers or iPhod (iPhone/iPod) Players

So, I have been trying to monitor the situation to see who are the up and coming players who have only played on an iPhone or iPod Touch. I think I have found the two best so far.

In this corner we have another Canadian (what do they put in their water up there?):

shaunnortho (Currently ranked #119 and with 2 top 10 times already) And thanks shaunnortho for the iPhod heads up.

And in this corner a US player:

  Tyler (Currently ranked #122)

Is there any other contenders out there?

Which will be the first to top 100? Who will be the first to complete total race in all level packs? Will it be one of these two guys? Or will someone else beat them to it?

Pickle, watch out, they're coming to take your spot.

spence, think! use your head....

Think about it,If I take one of mikes golds and then submit, what happens? He will take it right back within a day or 2 right?(well often that's the case anyhow)

However if I save up and get 30 of his golds, and submit all at once, I will actually take more than I ever could going one at a time, and he may never get around to taking them all back. Understand my reasoning? I will take alot of golds, and then I will likely keep alot of them, becuase alot of players won't bother to take them back,if I have taken so many! also, look, nobody hardly toutches mikes golds, becuase they know he can and most likely wil take them back. therefore,if I get enouph golds(in theory anyway)I will be somewhat feared, and people will leave me alone somewhat.

That my freind is my strategy. overal I will have more golds than most amarican players when I submit. as where I would probly never get past 10 otherwise.

It seems that all pickles are missing brains, even the ones that think they are actually real people to be respected...pickle, you are not going to take down mike, and even with your "straegie", mike will just beat all of his times before you submit so he will just take them right back. But then you will wait longer to submit, and mike won't care because if you never submit your times, you are not a threat.

BTW, I have chatted with some people about why they leave certain players gold's alone. Mostly, it is because they know that if they leave the other person's golds alone, theirs won't get taken. But if you take half of mikes golds, for some reason I doubt he would leave you alone.

mike and i recently had a chat bout this. his philosophy is take 1 of mine i take 2 of yours. even if i have to wait for you to get more golds for me to take back.
Mr.pickle.
@Xuzz, that was an example...I am not planning to take down mike(yet) that was a simply example so that you all would stop pestering me about submitting... I may take one or 2 of mikes, but I am not going to take 30 of his..

Tho I gotta dissagree...I don't think he would ever get around to taking the ALL back...hed take most perhaps, but in the long run I bet he'd end up leaving a few...
but like I said I am not taking all of his, so its irrelevant either way!

For what it's worth, I like Pickle's strategy. It's bound to work better than his past strategies .
Mr.pickle.
shut up.....

1st iPhone/iPod player in top 100:

  Tyler

But he is behind   shaunnortho by about 17 minutes on Total Race/6.

Good to see some competition out there.
PMD
Oh, but it looks like it was by only an hour or so.   shaunnortho back in to the lead.

Who will be the first 'Total' Total Race....
bones
uhh pmd.....(cough)   bones (cough) lol

Ya bones, I'm talking about players that have never played on a Palm. And you my friend have played most of yours on a Palm.

shaunnortho
woot! go me
shaunnortho
Except I don't have any times in the top 10.
Only 1 top 15 and 2 top 20 so I don't know what's in your water!

You need to take in to account the ties (runs with the same times). If you do that, you actually have 3 times 10 or less and 4 more between 11-18. You can check the 'Real' rank by looking at Casey's web site. Here is a link to the page that shows your times sorted by Real Rank:

http://www.songerfamily.com/bod_stats.php?Action=chart& ID=7079& SortIndex=4

If you don't look at 'Real' rank, then it is not an accurate representation of your times. Take Shelf for example. You have a time tied for Gold, but your rank is only 71. How fair is that? All that means is that you were the 71st person to get that time.

You do get Gold level points for that and we are trying to have SZ change the graph on the profile page to represent 'Real' rank. We'll see.

So give yourself some credit where credit is due.

shaunnortho
Oh yeah, that's true. I didn't think of it like that. Well that makes me feel even better then. Maybe he could, in the same graph, have a different coloured (we spell it like that in Canada) set of bars to show the 'real' ranks too. While I'm at it, he should change times to be measured to one thousandth of a second or at least include odd numbers in the measurement. There could be some limitations that I'm not aware of though (and probably there are).

That's a good site. How do you copy a players name and picture like that into a message?
PMD
Just copy the URL of their profile and it will do the rest for you when you past it in the message and send it. Use the Preview button to make sure you did it right.

Hey I didn't know I was the first iphone player in the top 100. Sweet!
feral
iphone player here.. not in top100 yet. theres only so many free hours in my day :0) #273 but only 38.7% of the way through the levels..(or thereabouts) and theres plenty I can go back and do much better on now I've had a bit of practice...
Spence
I tried Bod 2 on my friends iPod touch and it seemed much harder to control than on the palm. I suspect it was because my fingers have to move much farther to reach each button plus the lack of tactile(?) feedback.

With all the influx of iPod/iPhone players there is now over 10,000 player profiles that have been generated. Here is #10,000 created today:

 quinn

It was in the high 6,000's when the iPod/iPhone version came out in November 2008 I believe. Considering it took over 4 years to get that many, that is quite a few new players. It is interesting that so few of the new players seem to be very active in the forum. Maybe you are out there just lurking. If so, your welcome to join in anytime. Only   Mr.pickle. really had an adjustment fitting in.

We know from   Tyler that the iPhone/iPod is a playable platform. He is after all in the top 10 overall.

I see that the Free version (Bike or Die 2 - Lite Edition) is up to #3 of all free apps on the App Store. Tyler was prophetic last Wednesday when he said within a week it would be up from it's current position (#32) to the top 10. Well, it may make #1 by the time that week is up. Nice job with the free version SZ. Hopefully you are getting some well deserved benefits with the influx of new players. The level designer seems like it should keep the ball rolling even more.

Anyway, back to what you were doing.
