I'm just glad I was able to get some GC points from this. I didn't think it would ever say anything other than none next to golden club on my profile.

SPiDeR, getting golds is infectious. Once you get one, you realize that you can get another. I've seen this time and time again. A new biker climbs his way to the top on one level and realizes how addicting it is to go for the gold. Suddenly, that 'new biker' becomes a very recognizable name here in the forum, and is often soon accompanied by a string of medals next to it. You've been around now for over a year. I'd say you're poised to strike at any time then, should you choose to.

vegas right, it took me 4 or 5 months to get my first gold, but after that i got alot more within a short period of time, its addicting

ahh reminds me of my first (and only) gold... *flashback* I got 1st place on the climb, held it for a while despite pickle's constant "I can do better than thats" then mike flips took it... then kenn beat mike flips.... *end flashback*

It took me 8 month for my first gold but that doesn't count because 1. I was using a Palm M515 (super crappy) and 2. I was only 12 when I started playing. Oh ya and 3. back then you automatically got 100 points for beating a level so there was not much incentive to work on any one when you could finish another pack and get at least 1000 points.

My story is sort of similar, but not really. I started to play in late 2004 (shockingly enough even for me), but never came on to this site to see how to actually do the levels the "fast way," and didn't even play the main packs.

I only really started to play in October 2006 (when New Deal came out) and got my first gold, Sinus Revisited, around 2 months later. Apparently I was the first to come up with my trick, which made my time around 3 seconds faster than silver.

After a slew of emails from Mike and others asking if I would start playing competitively since they obviously recognized my awesome talent (which I thought was ridiculous at the time), I unfortunately got hooked.

So, Spence, that makes you 17?? sheesh.

Laser - yah my story is pretty similar too... except not really at all either. You see, back in 2005, I took DK's gold on Sinus Mountains at 31.60, then played it some more until my eyes were bleeding and landed 'the trick' after 8,000+ tries (which, of course, is what inspired your 'trick' [don't try to deny it. just admit it])

First of all, for some reason it took me much longer to do the trick in the original level.
I think that when I playing for the Revisited gold I didn't have an internet connection at the time so I thought that I was doing the more common route (which was actually jumping from the second mountain).
I did something similar on Human Insides by going for a 30.xx time when 31 would have been good enough. Wasted hours on that level. .
