I use just the 5 way buttons, now on Treo 680 and previously TE/2. No noticeable difference in control between devices.
Any specific tricks in mind?
All of my times have been achieved using the 5 way on the Treo 650. I have never played BoD on anything else

T3 - more than one control button on the DPad makes for difficult combinations.
Forward: Memos - Right top button
Brake: Tasks - Right bottom button
Balance Left: Contacts - Left bottom button
Balance Right: Left DPad
Flip: Calendar - Left top Button

im using a treo 700p and i hate the cramped button layout with a passion because my thumb is always over the power button...
i dont know how poeple us just the 5 way navigator to play because i have to be able to lean and brake/pedal at the same time. i use the 5 way for up=pedal and down=brake then i use the message and home keys for leaning.

I'm using a T|X, and use the Home button as left and the calendar button as right. Sometimes it seems like it does not recognize me pressing the buttons or I have to press 2 times to get it to work.

I had it using the 5 way, but I thought the app buttons would work better. Perhaps I'll try going back.

This has been discussed before, but I play regularly on the Tapwave Zodiac and Palm T3.
You can customize the controls, so every Palm should be able to play the game without a handicap.
The only thing like this I remember, is You Qi did not realize he could accelerate and balance at the same time, because he had a Sony Clie with "jog dial."

Z22 and accelerate = up, brake = down, left = lean left, right = lean right, turn around = select.

iv got a zire 72.
I use the 5 way navigator at the bottom,up makes the bike go forward, down is brake, left is left, right is right pretty simple.

but I don't think that different things are posible depending on your palm,it may show up diferent but im pretty sure that it doesent effect the actual gameplay, but thats just me...........
