Bike or Die for iPhone!

Bike or Die is now available for iPhone and iPod Touch!
Bike or Die in AppStore

The game is basically identical to the Palm version. The main difference is that there are no buttons - everything is touchscreen-controlled.
See YouTube video

iPhone users play the same levels as Palm users and compete in the same Hall of Fame. However, it is not clear yet if the touchscreen control will prove good enough for the real world class champions. There is only one way to find out - play!

1st time player / poster. (iphone) I bought the app a few weeks back and I left a 4 star review, great game, has masses of longetivity. It would have got 5 stars if one could change the physics a little. (but I can see how that would be a problem with the online scoring system..) anyway..

It would be nice however if the iphone / pod users could measure up their performance against other iphone / pod users... (not that I think any other group has an advantage.. I'll have to dig out my old clie and find out..)

feral, I haven't played much on my iPod Touch, but I'll let you compare against the times that I have made. I'll update these times as I get new ones. So far I have just played these levels until I complete them. I haven't gone back to improve times, so don't expect great times.

It would be nice if we could somehow compare against other iPod/iPhone players (I created an   iPMD user to do this), but it turns out that it effects the rankings of other players if you have multiple accounts. So for now, I guess we'll just need to go with putting the times in a spreadsheet. It would be cool to have an account that wasn't included in the rankings, so we have a place to automatically see and compare times. Oh well, one can dream.

Here is a link to my spreadsheet:

Let me know via PM how you fare.

Hi PMD, yeah I noticed from one of the other iphone posts, and have been comparing my efforts to yours already.. lol.

I suppose a solution would be to create a country called apple...
Spence
Thats not a bad idea actually except it would only compare medals...

'Pick a country' works for TTC, Packs and Levels

Quick observation - after one month and 3 days, it looks like almost 1000 profiles have been added to the web site. That's a pretty good number considering there is less than 8000 total in 4 1/2 years.

You know its odd... I had never even considered that someone would think this game is too hard until I read the appstore reviews. I guess I'm just above average. Then those guys want Sz to change it just for them. They don't even know how long this games been around. Makes me twitch when i read them...
Tyler
I agree with you spence, if anything it needs to be harder, people in the appstore are retarded
Mr.pickle.
Sp far this new pack isent going to answer that call..
Xuzz
Maybe if you left the finish flags it would be easier for new players .

I personally think the game is perfectly fine the way it is, and I don't understand why many of the iBikers are complaining... I don't have any problems... I'm even (slowly) crawling my way up the top 100 list (I mean really slowly)

I think save and resume is an EXCELLENT feature. Not everyone is as hardcore as those in the top 100ish. I used to try to raise my rank, and was in the top 100 briefly, but I couldn't hold out till the end of the site year, so the graph shows my line disappearing into the bottom of the screen instead of triumphantly into the righthand side smiley/9.gif

The sheer amount of time it required just became too unbearable. 8,000 plays to get one spectacular time for some of the vets here!? That's practically Olympic level committment! Very well earned if I do say so myself, but I have long given up on such an honor and long term project. However, the love of the game has gotten me to return to it, and even go for it on the Ipod Touch. It's the same difference as a T|T3, but the nicer graphics (I'm aware 2.1 is also available for the Palm, but I'd rather not mess with what I've already got for the oddest of reasons), and the 'moreso novelty of the virtual buttons' (I'm not dissing this interface, but so far, I'd say hard buttons are the way to go, and probably just agree to agree that the zods were the best way to go) do rekindle the appeal even more. At the very least, I will strive to complete all of the official HoF levels, and as much of the user stuff as possible.

Won't be going crazy with BoD like I did in the past, but still, great to see the ol' site again.

I must say that the resume feature sounds almost too good to be true. And 8,000? Man, that's when you just begin to know a level. That's right about when you just get warmed up. I have well over 2 dozen levels that I have over 8,000 tries on, and I've only submitted for 71 levels total. The only level that I have used a "resume" type feature on was Cave Dweller. But I had custom made it with the level designer. I split it into 2 halves. After perfecting each half dozens of times each, I began playing the entire level again and landed several under 2 minutes that day! With this resume feature, I can imagine how that would change the possibilities.

Spence
ya, i gotta get around to downloading that. And 8000? Most of my golds didn't take anywhere near that.
Mr.pickle.
spence, this is why Vega is conidered one of the best players of all time and you are not
Spence
Because I don't put a billion tries into many levels? I don't get it...
Spence
And I'm not sure you can be the judge of that Mr.45xx
Vega
um. flattering, pickle. thanks.... but I agree with Spence.

and by the way... if you pit Spence's accomplishments in BoD to some of the supposed "all-time greats",
his will hold up and even beat many of the great hallowed players of the past.

your "and you are not" remark is a bit off base bud.
Mr.pickle.
