Medal Bonus Points Voting

I see all the votes getting lost amongst the many varied posts on the original thread. So how about using this thread only for your vote - other comments remaining on the original thread.

Here are what I believe is the shortlist - vote for your 1st and 2nd choice. 1st gets 2 points, 2nd gets 1 point. Option with the most points after Jan 31st wins!

Even if you've voted in the original thread I think it's a good idea to reiterate here to keep all votes in one place.

now 13 has 13 points, and 7 has 8 points

(kris didnt give a second choice and neither did i but mine was not 7 and kris voted for 1,6 before)

Shane voted before and didnt now, and i guess we can see who votes tomoro, but it seems like 13 is gonna take the win

If you vote for the two leading options, then your votes cancel each other. I vote 7, 7. I might be changing my votes too much

, but option 13 seems to cancel the effect of the bonus altogether. It gives more points for 6*Bronze than 5*Gold.

Basically, with #13, there will be double incentive to move forward once you reach #15 or higher. So to move from #12 to #6 is currently 6 points. But with #13, it will be 12 points. Moving from #15 to #10 is currently 5 points, but with #13, it will be 10 points. The points will look like this (unless there is a tie in ranking of course

(#13 loses the whole reward for a 'medal' which is what this was all about, if you're already at fourth there's no real points incentive to put all the necessary effort in for a medal, you just get 2 points per level above position 15 instead of 1 with no ramp up at the end, may as well leave it as it is)

and mind you kris and ibanez, it has changed from medal bonuses yes but that is to boost the average players morale. i am sure the next subject is to change golden club to include all medals like..gold=3 silver=2 bronze=1

Hey you are all entitled to your opinion but there is no opinion for math. As far as math goes, you need to be right because math is math. Ibanez and Kris, it's not pointless. It's not JUST plus 2 instead of 1. With 13, there is a double accelerated incline from #15-#1. We all have excel. Put this in a simple graph and you will see a spike at the top. Up to #16 is +1. But at 15 it becomes +1+1 and each +1 stacks on top of the previous. So to go from #30 to #20 is a 10 point gain. But to go from #15 to #5 is a 20 point gain! Simple math guys. It's not pointless! Let's see what Sz says

Yes it is a steeper incline, so the gain from #15 to #4 will be much greater. Not questioning the maths, the opinion is regarding what this is actually for. My point was regarding the medals: Option 13 means going from #16 to #15 gives you 2 extra points, going from #4 to Bronze gives you 2 extra points, going from Silver to Gold also just gives you 2 extra points. I thought this was about making Gold, Silver, and Bronze more special - and worth the time and effort clearly required to get one. Going over old ground here, sorry...nothing wrong with lobbying for your favourite (opinion) & may the best option win.

Basically now we have 2 similar options, 13 and 7.

The difference is in the top few ranks. Its funny how me and Vega who have many medals are voting for the milder option while others are voting for the more extreme option. Nonetheless, maybe we can compromise in between these 2 options.

What if it was 20, 17, 13, 12,11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 or something like that. That is kinda in the middle of the two options. Or it can be 18,15,11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,2,1,1 or 18,16,13,12,11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,1

there is a lot of room for compromise. I just think 25 points is too much and 15 may be too little for others. So 18 or 20 may be a better idea.

Thanks for clarifying Ibanez. I agree. The medals should be rewarded special points. This has been my stance from the beginning. And I might add that #7 is not a bad equation. Henoch gave it a smart curve of +1 from #5 to #1. So it has a spread of 2,3,4 and then 5 (20 to 25 from Silver to Gold).

But I am still curious as to what Sz will say about all this. If the majority insists upon #7, I am not going to fight it anymore. I will continue to obtain medals in more levels, so this only helps me and other medal earners by a landslide. The danger in this equation is the combo of starting #10 with 6 points (instead of 1) AND giving gold 25 points. This means top players will be put into orbit with the amount of BP they will earn. And we want new players to be motivated, not discouraged. Considering PMD?s point, this will severely tilt individual level packs and that effect is permanent. However, as more levels are released, these points will be rapidly diminished by new levels adding 100 points per level to the point pot.

If #7 is implemented, it?s not going to wreck BoD, but I still agree with Mike that this seems more aggressive than is necessary. We are just looking out for everyone. But we have all said our piece. We have gotten a chance to say what needed to be said. Let?s see what Sz says. Maybe he can test implement both and see how it tilts things. But let?s do it and get back to playing BoD!

Support to iba?ez, the idea is that you always think about obtaining near gold or, look to how it is awarded by points in any competition. Perhaps some thinks that this would benefit to which we obtain more medals, but in the end the game will win and in the long run they will realize that this will improve the competition and not to the mediocrity
